Thomas Woschitz (Klagenfurt ,1968) is an Austrian director and screenwriter. He studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, Italy, and directed several short and medium lenght films, which have all been shown at numerous festivals, such as Venice and the Cannes Film Festival. In 2009, he won the “Max Ophüls Prize” for his first feature film “Universalove”, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. His second feature film “Bad Luck” was acclaimed by critics as “a jewel of a film” and was acquired by Netflix. His third feature “The Million Dollar Bet” had its international premiere at the Taormina Film Festival 2025 and will be released in the US in March 2026.
